Waxhaw, NC and Greenville, SC—On Friday, Nov. 2, volunteers from Design-Build firm A M King were working simultaneously on two projects for Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) in Charlotte and Greenville, S.C.
Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte held its Red Shoe Shootout at Meadow Wood Farm in Waxhaw. The 8th annual sporting clays charity tournament featured teams of all skill levels. A M King’s team of six included Jon Miller, Business Development Director; Matt Miller, Senior Project Manager; Joe Day, Assistant Project Manager; Meagan Rubick, Project Administrator; Donny Hicks, Executive Director at Gaston County EDC and Greg Welsh, Founding Partner of OAK Engineering, PLLC.
A M King was one of 25 teams participating at the Red Shoe Shootout, helping the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte raise more than $33,000—which covers 232 nights for families to stay at RMH Charlotte while their child is receiving medical care.
“The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte Red Shoe Shootout is one of my favorite charity events of the year, explains Jon Miller, team captain and A M King Director of Business Development. “The event brought together great people from all over the region for a fun day of clay shooting, focused specifically at raising awareness and monetary support for the families and children that utilize this phenomenal organization’s services and their welcoming facility.”
On that same day, six A M King employees in the Greenville SC office worked tirelessly to provide a home-cooked meal for 35+ people at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas in Greenville.

I know that RMH and A M King wanted it bring them some joy, and a break from the stress of what they are facing.”
Proceeds from the events will support families of sick or injured children. A M King plans to continue building its relationship with this special organization for many years to come.
