Position Overview
The Designer independently completes a variety of assignments to assist senior design staff in all project development from schematic design to project closeout.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and modification of schematic layouts, design development, construction documents, and revisions utilizing Revit and AutoCAD
- Correct red line drawings and markups
- Assist with creation of presentation materials (including renderings) and coordinate drawings using various software
- Research applicable code information and requirements for location jurisdictions; perform initial code analysis for review
- Support senior design staff with construction administration process including review and file management of RFIs (no apostrophe), submittals, and shop drawings
- Assist with file management and file distribution between A M King and consultants
- Package drawing sets, including printing, scanning, and mailing
- Assist with drawing summaries for revision drawing sets
- Actively participate in Design Group meetings and growth initiatives, including training
- Assist Design Team with other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, drafting, or related fields
- 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role; experience in Food Processing or Cold Storage a plus
- Knowledgeable & proficient in Revit and CAD software programs; other modeling or rendering programs a plus
- Knowledgeable about Microsoft and Adobe suite programs; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, and BIM360/ACC a plus
- Ability to read and understand construction documents and general knowledge of design drawing composition
- Ability to produce architectural documents
- Ability to travel for durations of 1 to 3 days
