Valleygate Dental Surgery Center, a Fayetteville, NC-based dental provider, wanted to expand into the Charlotte market. The partners from Carolinas Center for Oral and Facial Surgery (CCOFS) and Village Family Dental formed the new Charlotte practice and commissioned A M King to design and construct the shell building, as well as facilitate interior construction of two operating rooms; two procedure rooms; four private exam/pre-op/post-op rooms; six, semi-private recovery areas; a nurse station; waiting area; restrooms and locker rooms. The facility houses a generator—per state mandate for life support—separate patient and ambulatory entrances and LED lighting throughout. In addition, because the facility serves pediatric patients, tamper-proof switches and access controls were put in place. The site features a patio area, bike paths and fully connected sidewalks.
