A M King Welcomes New Talent

Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte based A M King welcomes two new project engineers to their team. Brandi Tonnesen and Thomas Kinney have accepted full-time positions working closely with project managers on a wide range of facilities nationally.

Kinney, joined the company upon his recent graduation from UNCC in December 2015. Kinney studied Construction Management and fit the culture of A M King very well. “I’ve always heard great things about A M King as a student, and even heard Brian King speak at a school event. I knew they were a solid company who valued the same things I did. I’m happy to be a new member of the team,” said Kinney.

As Kinney begins his career in the industry, A M King has supported him in ongoing training; to benefit both is personal and professional growth.

Tonnesen, a graduate from the Art Institute of Charlotte, isn’t entirely new to A M King. She has worked with the Design-Build firm as a draftsman for a little over 2.5 years. Enjoying the design side of the industry, she decided to take her knowledge and experience and apply it to a new role. “I’m very excited for this opportunity of growth within A M King. I’m thankful for my background in design and excited to apply it in a new way,” said Tonnesen.

Both Tonnesen and Kinney have spent a lot of time in the field since accepting their new position. A M King desires for their employees to have the best training and learning experiences to better prepare them for growth in the industry. A few of their responsibilities will include obtaining bid pricing, writing subcontractor scopes and contracts, site visits, scheduling and working directly with subcontractors and site superintendents to coordinate and assure each job runs smoothly and meets deadlines.

Both hires are Charlotte born and bred. Keep your eye out for these two young professionals on the move.
