A M King Begins Second Duke Primary Care Project For Tkc

Apex, NC—A M King announced that it has begun construction of a new medical office building at the intersection of US Highway 64 and Blackburn Road in Apex—near a charter school and residential neighborhood, adjacent to an existing Medical Office Building occupied by Duke Primary Care. The new Duke Primary Care Clinic will cater to the growing demand of new and existing patients in the area.

The single-story medical office building is A M King’s second Duke Primary Care design-build for The Keith Corporation, a N.C.-based developer that specializes in Office, Industrial, Retail and Healthcare developments. The first one is located in Oxford, NC. The new facility will comprise roughly 15,000-square-feet when it is completed at the end of December.

A M King will be completing all site development, including parking lot, and site utilities. Along with the site, A M King will be constructing the building core and shell work, which includes brick veneer exterior walls and canopies, along with plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection infrastructure.

“With the same construction and design team on the second building, A M King and the design consultants have been able to make minor design and sequencing adjustments to the building to offer the Owner and tenant a higher quality building in a shorter amount of time at a lower overall construction cost as compared to previous similar buildings,” says George Lehnerer, A M King Business Unit Leader.
